JA Angel Tree a HUGE Success!
Thank You to the Batesville community for your generosity in helping us serve 98 children within 36 families this Christmas. And a special thank you to Tri Lakes Medical Center, First Security Bank, and Regions bank for allowing us to set up trees and drop off locations at their places of business.
Junior Auxiliary of Batesville recently set up three “Angel Trees” to benefit approximately 100 local children in need of support this Christmas. Each tree was decorated with angel ornaments that had the child’s sizes and wish list on the back. The trees were located in the lobbies of Regions Bank, Tri-Lakes Medical Center, and First Security Bank where community members could select a child to adopt. Unwrapped gifts for the adopted children were returned to either Regions, Tri-Lakes, or First Security by December 14 and distributed by JA members before Christmas.

The Junior Auxiliary of Batesville and Tri-Lakes Medical Center have partnered to launch a new project this year called Imagination Library, an early childhood literacy program created and developed by American country music legend, Dolly Parton. The idea behind the program is to serve registered children, between the ages of birth to five years old, by mailing an age-appropriate book each month until the child’s 5th birthday – completely free to the child. Brochures for the Imagination Library program will be presented to new moms and dads at TLMC prenatal classes, in the Tri-Lakes Women’s Clinic, and included in the “New Mom” take home packets post-delivery. To learn more about the program, visit www.jaofbatesvillems.org, or www.imaginationlibrary.com.
